For this point I agree, libgossip is a good design and is what made the
move to telepathy so "easy". Nobody knows what will be used as backend
in 5years... What Eitan suggested (and I agree) is GossipProtocol should
be at least reworked (if not removed completely) since telepathy is one
gossip-protocol that does all IM-protocols, but for now we can keep it,
the only limitation, afaik, is gossip_protocol_new_account() that can't
be used for telepathy which means we actually violate the libgossip
layer and call directly
gossip_telepathy_cmgr_new_account_from_protocol() from the UI.
All in all I think this discussion is now useless. All gossip developers
(and contributors) said they won't propose gossip-telepathy for GNOME
2.18, that's all. Let's see what we can do in the next 6 month and think
about the inclusion in GNOME 2.20.
