So, I had a chat with Rob McQueen on IRC around this as there seems to
be quite a bit of confusion here on the list. It is perfectly fine that
we are continuing along the current path of having Telepathy as a
protocol implementation living next to the built in XMPP implementation.

So for now we (Gossip hackers) will continue hacking on the XMPP backend
 and UI while Eitan and Xavier can continue hacking on the Telepathy
backend and they should be able to coexist happily.
