It would be nice if people on this list actually did some thinking of  
a solution to this instead of just wining about other solutions.

Ie. we have a bunch of problems:

1. Consistent behaviour (With other GNOME apps)

2. Obvious behaviour (ie. not change an icon to a close button)

3. Tabs get too wide with a close button on each. (Yes they do, I can  
fit
    three converstations in a standard chat window with close buttons  
and
    five without).

I haven't yet heard anyone but me, Martyn or Jordi come with a  
suggestion on how to solve these three problems.
