For those not watching the bug, I just committed a variation on Brian's
patch to support libnotify 0.3.2 or above. For more information see the
bug report: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332169

I want to expand the use of libnotify too so it gets exposed for
subscriptions and some other scenarios. I would be happy to hear any
thoughts people have on this too.
