With chatroom/group and avatar now in TELEPATHY branch we are not far
from feature-equivalent with HEAD. We mainly miss contact information
but there is not even a spec written for that in telepathy... There were
a vcard-based api but its deprecated and has nothing to replace, yet.
Thanks to telepathy we gain at least MSN and IRC support, and now VoIP.
Thinks are moving fast those days but the code needs lot of love and
bugfixes.
One reason to not merge into HEAD is because Martyn don't want me to
commit patches into HEAD without reviewing... So with the TELEPATHY
branch I can commit all patches I want easily. Actually there is not
that much changes in libgossip and UI between TELEPATHY branch and HEAD.
All changes are under #ifdef USE_TELEPATHY.
$ grep -r "#ifdef USE_TELEPATHY" * | wc -l
27
The majority of those #ifdef are in GossipAccount.
For VoIP my idea is to commit libgossip and UI stuff into HEAD (it's
totally telepathy-independent) once it's ready. Like that there is not
too much changes between HEAD and TELEPATHY.
Xavier.
