I personally agree that this is more "integrity violating" than useful. 
It also doesn't really say anything, just because a window is focused 
doesn't mean that I'm reading what's in it. Especially if I'm using 
sloppy focus where it's enough that the mouse is over the chat window. 
The focus might also end up on a chat window when switching desktops, 
without the user actively focusing it.
