It's not really necessary. If you want reduce the number of shortcuts, I
don't want to stay in the way. :) (except CTRl+N ;) )

No, sorry. It was late .. I think the most users will not recognize the
smiley-menu as an submenu of Edit or of the context menu. I'm not sure
where it could be placed more visible, like in Gaim, Yahoo etc. Maybe on
the right of the input field...
On the other side Gossip has a very clean GUI.
